TV-Series
Description
Shingo Uryū serves as the protagonist across multiple franchise adaptations. He experienced a sickly childhood with asthma but has since recovered and remains healthy. With parents often absent due to work, he lives with his stepsister, Sakuno Uryū, who handles cooking. Shingo possesses a slim, pale build, stands approximately 171–175 cm tall, has short brown hair, blue eyes, and typically wears his school uniform. Born September 29th, he is a Libra with blood type AB.

Academically, he attends Kagamidai Private Academy as a second-year student before transferring to Yuihime Girls' Private Academy for a test merger program. Placed in class 2-T, he is elected co-class representative alongside Airi Sena. Initial resistance to the merger from female students, including Airi, is eased by Shingo's proactive kindness. He actively resolves conflicts, improving the atmosphere for transferred students and successfully advocating for the recognition of the animal-care-focused Nuko Club, which he joins.

His personality blends kindness, diligence, and keen observation, though his caring nature sometimes leads him to prioritize others' moods, presenting a personal challenge. Self-sufficiency from his upbringing shows in activities like shopping and household management. Romantic relationships vary by adaptation:
- The anime adaptation, following Miu Amaha's visual novel route, depicts Shingo supporting Miu through overwork at the Nuko Club and her part-time job, culminating in a romantic relationship after he prevents her collapse.
- Manga adaptations show him ending up with Airi Sena, tracing their dynamic from antagonism to mutual affection.
- The PlayStation Portable visual novel port adds Sana Inui as a main romance option due to popularity; her route explores her initial hostility turning into feelings.
- Other visual novel routes involve relationships with Sakuno Uryū, Angelina Nanatsu Sewell, and Miu Amaha, exploring facets like supporting Angelina's maid aspirations or navigating Sakuno's familial bond.

Spin-offs like the HD remake expand Sana's route with new scenes and development. Shingo consistently acts as a mediator and supportive figure, whether helping Airi conceal her independent living, aiding the Nuko Club's recognition, or resolving peer conflicts.
