Volt Luster, the Haos attribute brawler for the antagonistic Vexos, held initial loyalty to the Vestal royal family. Physically imposing with spiky reddish-orange hair, purple eyes, and a muscular build, he wore a distinctive light-blue coat featuring gold fur trim over a black undersuit, white knee-high boots, and wristbands with gold accents. His honorable nature set him apart from fellow Vexos; he respected opponents and refused unfair fights, declining to battle Dan Kuso after Dan's exhaustion against Spectra Phantom. Volt viewed brawling as survival, criticizing Prince Hydron's privileged perspective. Despite Mira Fermin's initial assessment, he demonstrated strategic thinking and level-headed judgment in combat. His partnership with Bakugan revealed compassion, particularly for his original guardian, Haos Mega Brontes. He showed visible anger when Mylene Farrow discarded Brontes for being "too emotional," though he did not intervene. Witnessing Gus Grav force-evolve Brontes into Alto Brontes using Chaos Ability X—a process stripping the Bakugan's soul—triggered Volt's violent confrontation with Gus. During their brawl, Volt hesitated to attack Alto Brontes, prioritizing his former partner's safety over victory and losing the match. He never reunited with Brontes after Gus discarded the cybernetically altered Bakugan. Volt later partnered with the mechanical Haos Boriates, communicating with it caringly and utilizing Bakugan Traps like Hexstar and Dynamo. Volt's Vexos loyalty stemmed from Hydron rescuing him from hardship years earlier on Vestal, though details about his family beyond having siblings remained unclear. This loyalty eroded upon discovering the group's extreme plans. He considered the Bakugan Termination System morally questionable but deemed the Alternative Weapon System—designed to annihilate Earth and Vestal—unforgivably evil. Abandoning the Vexos, he returned to his ruined Vestal hometown, where a child still regarded him as a hero despite the Vexos' atrocities. Volt promised to train the child, a commitment unfulfilled when Hydron arrived to eliminate him as a traitor. In their final confrontation, Volt defeated Hydron using Boriates' custom battle ability, permanently locking the Bakugan in its deployed form while continuously increasing its power. Though able to kill Hydron, Volt deliberately missed his attack as a warning. Enraged by defeat, Hydron activated a Death Bomb, sucking Volt into another dimension. Before disappearing entirely, Volt declared Hydron would face consequences for actions against innocent lives. Following his elimination, other characters referenced Volt as an example of Hydron's cruelty. He appeared posthumously in Hydron's visions alongside Lync Volan, urging Hydron to oppose his father, King Zenoheld.
