Description
Mira Fermen is a sixteen-year-old Vestal girl who becomes the leader of the Bakugan Brawler Resistance in the second season of the anime. She initially believed Bakugan were nothing more than unintelligent creatures, but her perspective changed when she witnessed the tortured Alpha Hydranoid speak out in vengeance. That event spurred her to form the Resistance alongside Baron Leltoy and Ace Grit, with the goal of freeing all captured Bakugan from Prince Hydron and the Vexos.
Her personality is often described as a stubborn tomboy. She can be intense and headstrong, willing to take risks to achieve her objectives. Despite her tough exterior, she is also capable of acting girly or flirtatious when the situation calls for it, such as when she disguised herself as a fan in Alpha City to gather information. Her primary motivation is to find her older brother, Keith Fermen, who disappeared during the turmoil caused by Hydranoid's rebellion. This personal quest often drives her actions, sometimes causing friction with her teammates, especially Ace, who frequently argues with her about her single-mindedness. As the Resistance leader, she constantly pushes her team to stay active and focused, but her tendency to act alone can create tension.
In the story, Mira serves as the initial point of contact for Dan Kuso and Marucho Marukura when they arrive in New Vestroia. She introduces them to the Vestal brawling system and recruits them into the Resistance. Throughout the season, she plays a central role in the fight against the Vexos, participating in key battles to destroy the dimension controllers and free the captured Bakugan. Her character undergoes significant development when she discovers that the masked Vexos leader Spectra Phantom is actually her brother Keith. After Spectra unmasks himself, Mira temporarily betrays the Resistance to stay by his side, but she eventually returns to her friends after realizing the true extent of his actions. By the end of the season, she reconciles with Keith when he rejoins the Resistance, and she continues to support the Brawlers in their final confrontation against King Zenoheld.
Key relationships include her bond with her brother Keith, which is the emotional core of her arc. Her friendship with Ace is marked by constant bickering, yet they respect each other as brawlers. She is also close to Baron, who looks up to her as a leader, and she works alongside Dan, Shun, and Marucho as allies. Her partner Bakugan is Wilda, a Subterra creature that evolves into Magma Wilda, known for its extreme durability and powerful earth-based attacks. She also wields the trap Bakugan Baliton. As a Subterra brawler, Mira is a skilled combatant capable of defeating Vexos members such as Gus, Lync, and Mylene in one-on-one battles. Her abilities are grounded in heavy, defensive tactics, using Wilda's immense strength to overpower opponents.
