Description
Shizue Fuwa serves as a counselor monitoring assigned student groups in her district, blending teaching, psychological support, and life guidance to help students navigate societal restrictions on physical contact. She advises students like Hazuki Makino on overcoming communication difficulties and establishing real-world connections amidst pervasive digital isolation.

Her personal history is marked by her mother's legacy as a children's pathologist and counselor who died by suicide alongside a suspected serial killer four years prior, an event Shizue resents. Unaware of her own resemblance to her mother, this similarity is noted by detective Touji Kunugi, an acquaintance from their past. Shizue exhibits obsessive-compulsive behaviors, specifically rubbing wet paper while expressing aversion to its antiseptic smell.

When a series of child murders occurs, Kunugi requests her assistance with the investigation, reigniting a past romantic connection between them. Following the murder of student Yuko Yabe, Ayumi Kono alerts Shizue that Makino Hazuki and Mio Tsuzuki are targeted next, prompting her direct involvement in protecting them. Her collaboration with Kunugi deepens as they work together to uncover the conspiracy behind the killings.
