Description
Tío Jam creates and maintains Anpanman, baking the anpan heads that serve as Anpanman's head and power source from his bakery. He possesses extensive knowledge about the world, applying it to his role. When Anpanman's head sustains damage, becomes dirty, or loses strength after feeding others, Tío Jam bakes a fresh replacement; the damaged head detaches once the new head is applied, restoring Anpanman's power and vitality.

His bakery doubles as Anpanman's operational base. Tío Jam conducts daily patrols to identify those needing help and creates and maintains the capes worn by Anpanman and his allies. Anpanman came to life when a shooting star landed in Tío Jam's oven during the baking of an anpan. Stars, called "stars of life" in related media, connect to this event.

In the context of "Yōsei Rinrin no Himitsu," Tío Jam manages the connection between Anpanman's strength and the magical flowers provided by the fairy Rin-Rin, which are vital for sustaining Anpanman's power. He addresses the threat when the antagonist Baikinman disrupts this floral energy source, jeopardizing Anpanman's capacity to function.
