Description
Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV, known as Baby Beel, is an infant demon son of Demon Lord Beelzebub III and Iris. Sent to the human world by his father to destroy humanity, he bonds unexpectedly with delinquent Tatsumi Oga after emerging from a dying man Oga finds by a river. A supernatural contract seal forms on Oga's right hand, growing more intricate as Oga fights and taps into demonic power. This bond imposes strict physical limits; initial separation beyond roughly 15 meters endangers Oga's life, though the distance slowly increases.
Baby Beel possesses a highly impressionable nature, drawn to displays of strength due to his own physical vulnerability. He often loses fights to other infants or even cats. Preferring brute force solutions to simple problems and exhibiting low intelligence, he harbors a fear of insects. His infant interests skew unusual, showing fascination with violence, exposed muscle tissue, heavy metal music, and demonic toys. He consistently refuses clothing, appearing nude and resisting all dressing attempts. He evolves from a frequent crybaby whose distress unleashed destructive electric shocks into a braver individual who cries less, influenced by Oga's lessons on masculinity and demonic pride. Around girls like Futaba Kanzaki and Chiyo Aiba, he displays shyness, even uncharacteristic embarrassment about his nudity.
His abilities stem from his demonic heritage and emotions. His electric-powered cries cause significant destruction when distressed. Over time, he demonstrates growing resilience and courage, enduring bullying from toddler Raita during a nursery trial to achieve his goal of making friends. His bond with Oga shifts from a forced contract to genuine familial attachment, shaping his behavior and values.
A distinct entity, Black Baby Beel, is a powerful replica created by Zenjūrō Saotome's Demon World training radio. Physically identical except for blackish-purple coloration and lacking visible eyes, it retains Baby Beel's pacifier and nudity. It shares Baby Beel's nonsensical babbling, curiosity, and easily bored nature, though its voice distorts. Its powers mirror but amplify Baby Beel's, featuring an even more destructive electric cry capable of burning trees and creating chasms, flight, and the ability to "change tape sides" – shifting between a weaker form (Side A) and a full-powered battle form, the Lord of the Flies. It shows fondness for the original Baby Beel mixed with competitive rivalry, notably over milk leading to "Super Milk Time." Saotome acts as its caregiver.
