Maa serves as the central protagonist in the Ultraman Kids anime sub-series, originating from Planet M7.8 where the character is regarded as that world’s version of an Ultraman. Maa arrived on the planet as an infant under mysterious circumstances, crash-landing in a rescue pod before the kind monster Mr. Grosser, who discovered and raised the child.

While attending the school run by Mr. Grosser, Maa formed friendships with classmates like Sev and encountered rivals such as Bal. A persistent curiosity about the fate of the biological parents and the lost mothership eventually inspired a grand space adventure. Supported by friends and loved ones, Maa journeyed across the cosmos aboard a newly built spaceship to seek answers.

School life for Maa is active and often instructive, featuring participation in activities like soccer alongside other child superheroes and monsters. The character also holds a romantic interest in another student, Piko.

In terms of abilities, Maa remains the only one among the peers capable of firing a projectile attack known as the Ultro Beam, which resembles an underdeveloped Spacium Beam.

Maa’s biological parents bear a resemblance to younger versions of the established Ultraman characters Ultraman Chuck and Ultrawoman Beth.
