Description
Satsuki Usui is a main character, initially introduced as a childhood friend and member of the Subaru guild within the MMORPG Union. Renowned as the "Queen of Elementals," she is a powerful mage utilizing the Sense ability Sorcery, binding elemental spirits for magic; the number bound reflects her capability, summoned via her primary weapon, a whip. Her physical appearance features a teenage girl of average height with short red hair, red eyes, and a well-endowed figure. Her in-game attire consists of a black corset top, a red skirt layered over black ruffles, a dark blue cloak with white accents secured by a brown belt, black heels, and a black hair bow. Kind yet prone to frustration and jealousy stemming from unrequited feelings for fellow guild member Haruto Amō, particularly directed at his close interactions with Asahi Kuga, she retains a tomboyish streak and deep concern for Haruto's well-being.

A significant part of her background involves the Subaru guild's dissolution after Asahi's death during a game incident, leading to Union's shutdown and her losing contact with all friends. Six years later, she visits Haruto in the real world, urging him to confront his avoidance of Asahi's death. Following the launch of the new game Re'Union, she reunites with Haruto in-game and journeys alongside him. Her jealousy escalates, prompting her to confront Asahi and demand she distance herself from Haruto, resulting in an argument causing Haruto to log out. She later reminds him of their guild's promise symbolized by exchanged rings, leading her to craft her own ring in-game. Subsequently, she ventures into the dungeon where Asahi originally died alongside Haruto and Asahi. In a pivotal moment, she confesses her feelings to Haruto, giving him time until a dance event to respond. When he chooses Asahi instead, she experiences sadness and quietly cries over the rejection but maintains composure. She then attends the dance with Takanori Mikado, where they are mistakenly perceived as a couple by Nozomi Kusaka. Later, she participates in the search for the missing Nozomi, who is found brainwashed and aligned with antagonists. Throughout her interactions, she demonstrates maturity, expressing no lingering resentment toward Haruto after his rejection. She explicitly states they can remain friends and jokes about being an alternative if Asahi rejects him, indicating a shift toward emotional resilience and acceptance while preserving their friendship. Her relationship with Haruto is defined by their history as childhood friends and guildmates, his past promise to protect her, her longstanding unreciprocated affection, and her role in helping him regain aspects of his happier childhood self after years of emotional hollowness.
