Description
Akira Amachi is one of five human teenagers stranded on Electronic Planet B-1 after their starship malfunctions during suspended animation. He emerges from the crash alongside Luke Stewart, Mia White, Zen Ogawa, and Patricia Longfellow, finding themselves thrust onto a mechanized world consumed by conflict. Described as hot-blooded and perpetually upbeat, Akira radiates energetic impulsiveness. Sheltered initially by RIM, the Mother Computer of the Algo Republic, Akira and his companions are swiftly drawn into the planetary war against the Gurendos, a mechanoid space gang under dictator Dylan. Eschewing conventional Algo Republic units like the Silver Wolves or White Thunder, Akira aligns instead with the Battle Hackers—a team of rebellious, nonconformist Machine Robo warriors composed of misfits and dropouts who defy standard protocols. Akira pilots the mecha unit Jet Riser, spearheading battles against Gurendos forces. His alliance with the Battle Hackers places him on the frontline of resistance, fighting to liberate B-1 while seeking a way for the humans to return to Earth. An early concept portraying Akira as the reincarnation of Rom Stol from *Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos* was ultimately discarded. The final episode unveils that the robotic wars on B-1 were orchestrated by humans as an arms-testing ground, complicating Akira's unwitting role. Throughout, his actions center on survival, his bond with the Battle Hackers, and the quest to find a path back to Earth alongside his fellow humans.
