Melov, a telepathic cat from the planet Svan, crash-lands on Earth following the catastrophic 2024 meteor strike. This event triggered the occupation of Earth by the Trader Force, a military regime under Queen Photon. Discovered among the meteor's survivors alongside human boy Tetsuro Daiba, Melov appears in a flash of bright light and establishes telepathic contact with the orphaned Daiba. Daiba later awakens under observation in a spaceship infirmary.

After Daiba and another survivor, Rei Yuuki, are captured and confined within Queen Photon's sealed chamber, Melov's telepathic intervention proves crucial to their escape. Queen Photon claims her forces aim to save Earth from those responsible for the meteor, creating ambiguity about her true intentions versus Melov's objectives.

Melov's aid during captivity empowers Daiba and Yuuki to break free and ultimately confront a pivotal choice: remain on a devastated Earth incapable of supporting their advanced race or venture into space seeking an unknown destiny.
