Description
Hina Sorasaki is a third-year student and the head prefect of the Gehenna Academy Prefect Team, also known as the Disciplinary Committee. Standing at just 142 centimeters tall, her small and youthful appearance belies her immense authority and power. Because her physique has changed little over the years, she can still fit into outfits from her past, such as her elementary school swimsuit. Her birthday is February 19th. On the surface, Hina often comes across as lethargic and apathetic, frequently muttering complaints about her burdensome workload and how troublesome everything is. Despite this lazy facade, she possesses an incredibly profound sense of duty, rigor, and responsibility, dedicating herself almost entirely to maintaining order and discipline in a school known for its chaos and freedom.
Hina is widely feared throughout the academies of Kivotos and is regarded as one of the strongest students in the city. Her combat prowess is so significant that she is said to single-handedly hold the firepower equivalent to the rest of the Prefect Team, and the mere mention of her name is enough to intimidate delinquents and hostile organizations. She carries a large, customized machine gun named The End: Destroyer, which is nearly as long as her body and reminiscent of historical models like the MG42. Her extraordinary abilities include immense durability, allowing her to withstand direct attacks and continue fighting while injured, as well as high-speed combat and even flight to catch up to speeding trains. Beyond her physical strength, Hina is also highly intelligent and efficient in administrative work, handling much of the Prefect Team's strategic planning and paperwork herself.
Beneath her stoic and capable exterior, Hina struggles with the immense pressure of her position and the severe toll it takes on her well-being. Her workaholic lifestyle leaves her with almost no free time, and her listed hobbies are simply sleeping and resting. Due to the constant stress and a lack of appreciation from those outside her immediate circle, she has contemplated retirement, confiding only in the teacher Sensei about these feelings. She harbors a hidden desire for recognition and attention, wanting to be praised and to have moments where she can be spoiled and act like a normal girl her age, much like other students she sees. This vulnerability is rarely shown, but it highlights the emotional weight she carries as a leader. Her key relationship is with Sensei, whose acknowledgment and trust give her the strength to continue.
Within her own academy, Hina is served by her loyal and devoted second-in-command, Ako Amau, who idolizes her. She also has a tense and rivalrous relationship with Makoto Hanuma, the president of Gehenna's Pandemonium Society student council. In the main storyline, Hina plays a pivotal role during the Eden Treaty arc, where despite being severely injured by an explosion, she fights relentlessly to protect Sensei and clear a path for allies, showcasing her unwavering loyalty and sense of duty. Throughout the series, she evolves from being solely a symbol of overwhelming power to a more nuanced figure who learns to rely on others and openly express her hidden feelings.
