Murasame is a missing-nin from Amegakure, the Village Hidden in the Rain, who defected to join Suien's mission to seize Takigakure's Hero Water. He possesses a muscular build, grey hair cut to chin length and spiked at the top, and a distinct teal line across his nose. His typical attire includes a black sleeveless shirt, grey pants, ninja sandals, and brown arm warmers.

Within Suien's team, alongside Hisame and Kirisame, Murasame assumes command in Suien's absence. His combat skills are diverse:
- **Ninjutsu:** He wields Water Release: Water Whip to bind opponents and employs genjutsu to create confusing hazy afterimages.
- **Taijutsu:** He utilizes high-speed techniques designed to overwhelm an opponent's reaction time.
- **Tools:** He carries specialized wire intended to inflict severe injury on targets attempting the Rope Escape Technique.

During the assault on Takigakure, Murasame aided Hisame in capturing Sasuke Uchiha. He later confronted Shibuki after the village leader consumed the Hero Water. Shibuki defeated Murasame using a Water Dragon technique amplified by the Hero Water's temporary chakra boost. Contrary to initial appearances, a subsequent novel adaptation revealed Murasame survived the Takigakure encounter. He was later captured by Kakashi Hatake.
