Arturo Mercado Jr. is a prominent Mexican voice actor and dubbing director with a career spanning over four decades, recognized for his versatile work in anime, animated series, and live-action film dubs. Born Arturo Mercado Leonel de Cervantes on November 29, 1974, in Mexico City, he comes from a multigenerational family of voice acting legends, which includes his father Arturo Mercado Chacón, his mother Magdalena Leonel, and his wife Diana Galván Santos. He began his training in dubbing at the age of five on November 29, 1979, at Estudios Sonoros Mexicanos (ESM) under the direction of his grandmother, and he also started working in commercial voice-over in 1981.

While he is widely known as the official Spanish voice of Mickey Mouse since 2004, Mercado Jr. has an extensive portfolio in anime. Among his most recognized anime roles are Shu Tsukiyama in the Tokyo Ghoul series, including Tokyo Ghoul:re and the OVA Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto. He also voices Pain in Naruto Shippūden and Teru Mikami in Death Note. His work spans numerous other series, including the roles of Tatsumi Leonard Aragaki in Megalobox, Zion Kunikida in Ingress, Kazuma Soma in Fruits Basket, Togusa in Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, Von Tepes in Radiant, Ghetsis in Pokémon Evolutions, Matamune in Shaman King, and Murasame in the Naruto Special: Battle at Hidden Falls. I Am the Hero!. He also voiced Minato in Deca-Dence and Tetsuya Tsurugi in MazinKaiser. In film, his anime credits include Pokémon Heroes: Latios & Latias (as Brock), Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (as Umberto Mori), and the Bionicle sequels (as Toa Matau).

In addition to his anime work, Mercado Jr. is a prolific voice for live-action actors. He is the recurring Spanish dubbing voice for Tom Cruise, Jet Li, James Franco, Matt Damon, Ian Somerhalder, Matthew Lillard, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Jason Bateman, among others. He also holds notable dubbing roles in major franchises, such as Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, William Lennox in the Transformers film series, Hal Jordan / Green Lantern in various DC Comics animated projects, and Sheriff Woody in the Toy Story franchise starting from the third film.

Beyond performance, Arturo Mercado Jr. also works as a dubbing director, continuing a family tradition of leadership in the Mexican dubbing industry.
