He is a relatively young, tall, and athletic man, characterized by short, spiky brown hair and striking red eyes. His distinctive uniform features fitted pants, a red waist scarf, and a jacket with a prominent black-and-white striped collar, typically concealed by the standard Inquisition cape. His weapon is a unique bladed instrument resembling a fluted rapier with multiple short blades extending from the hilt.

Von Teppes exhibits a consistently overconfident and mocking personality. He is notably impulsive and reckless in combat, frequently charging into battle without adequate caution—a flaw his superior, Torque, views as a critical liability driving his narrative consequences. His combat prowess is significant, demonstrated by his ability to incapacitate Seth with a single strike during the Rumble Town events. As a Thaumaturge, he underwent an initiation rite unlocking a specific "Miracle" power, though its exact nature remains unknown.

His primary narrative involvement occurred during the Rumble Town mission to capture the horned sorcerer Seth. After Torque defeated the Domitor Hameline, Von Teppes intervened, swiftly knocking Seth unconscious. However, Seth entered a berserk state, overpowered Von Teppes with a single devastating counterattack, and left him severely injured. As punishment for his recklessness during this incident, Torque recalled him and confined him to the Inquisition capital, Bôme.

Conceptually, his design shows possible inspiration from Vlad III the Impaler (Vlad Țepeș), reflected in his surname and a visual aesthetic with vampiric undertones.
