Description
Ligene is a Time Patroller sent from the future to monitor and correct temporal anomalies. Her mission begins chaotically when she collides with the protagonist, spilling a strange multi-colored powder that triggers his uncontrolled jumps through summer vacation days. This accident also damages her essential time-travel instrument, a sandglass, hindering her task.

Tasked with preventing Kaho Serizawa's fatal accident on August 31st, she guides the protagonist through the unstable timeline. Ligene blends occasional direction with a habit of deflecting responsibility for complications, frequently blaming the protagonist for breaking her equipment. Despite the mission's seriousness, she maintains a lighthearted, playful demeanor, often joking and expressing fascination with the protagonist's era.

Her personality mixes curiosity about contemporary life, sarcasm, and a streak of perceived irresponsibility towards her duties. Moments of frustration manifest, such as physically striking the protagonist when annoyed, yet she gradually reveals a protective dedication to ensuring Kaho's survival. Ligene's method involves identifying key temporal triggers—like Mana Kawamura's injury causing train delays—but leaves critical interventions to the protagonist.

Her narrative function centers on enabling the protagonist's time jumps and representing external temporal oversight. While character development is limited, a romantic undercurrent surfaces in the anime adaptation when she kisses the protagonist, hinting at a deeper personal investment beyond her official role. Her interactions primarily drive plot mechanics focused on altering Kaho's fate, not exploring her origins or future society.
