Description
Hoshiguma, an Oni of Higashi descent, emerged from a marauder clan steeped in violence. Her imposing shield, "Hannya," carries a grim legacy—forged by a blacksmith whose kin fell to her clan’s brutality. After obliterating her own clan and homeland under mysterious motives, she fled to Lungmen, carving a notorious reputation within its criminal underworld. Years of ruthless survival brought profound losses: allies perished in gang wars, some by her own hand during betrayals or desperate choices.

A pivotal encounter with Ch'en redirected her path, leading to recruitment into the Lungmen Guard Department. Ascending to the Special Inspection Unit, she balanced duties alongside Ch'en and Swire, tempering their clashes with pragmatic diplomacy. Renowned as a senior operator, Hoshiguma wields her shield with calculated precision, anchoring allies with unflinching calm amid chaos. Beyond duty, she channels her thrill-seeking nature into motorcycle races alongside Madam Fumizuki, chasing velocity as respite from her tumultuous past.

Her history intertwines with Lungmen’s disenfranchised youth, exemplified by Ah Hsiang, a former informant she once steered from gang violence. Hoshiguma’s allegiance to the L.G.D., orchestrated by Wei Yenwu, stems from a resolve to dismantle systemic cycles of exploitation, shielding vulnerable lives through action—deflecting crossfire with her shield, orchestrating tactical counterattacks, and prioritizing civilian safety during operations.

The "Patrolling Ronin" attire embodies her duality: traditional Higashi motifs fused with L.G.D. insignia, a visual testament to her role as both enforcer and cultural intermediary. This aesthetic cements her fearsome stature among Lungmen’s underworld, where her name alone invokes caution.

Chronicled across main narratives, side stories, and vignettes, Hoshiguma’s arc traces her metamorphosis from a tormented outlaw to Lungmen’s stalwart guardian. Her loyalty anchors the city’s fragile order, her insights into its shadowed corners proving indispensable in navigating threats—both external and born from the streets she once roamed.
