Description
Thirteen-year-old Riko Izayoi hails from the Magic World, where she attends Magic School. Though academically strong, she initially faces challenges with practical magic like spellcasting and broom riding. Her journey commences when she travels to the human world, the No Magic Realm, seeking the Linkle Stone Emerald. There, she partners with Mirai Asahina to become a legendary Pretty Cure warrior. This partnership grants her the power to transform into Cure Magical, the Pretty Cure of Magic, introduced by the phrase "The magic of the duo! Cure Magical!".
Transformed as Cure Magical, she sports long purple hair in wing-like twintails secured by a red bow and a black witch hat adorned with a star and gold beads. Her attire is a purple dress with a dark purple collar, pink and yellow bows, and a light yellow cape. She wears purplish-black gloves reaching her elbows and matching boots, complemented by unique gold bracelets. She possesses specialized Style Forms: Ruby Style (red/black dress with red sleeves), Sapphire Style (blue outfit with a light blue streak in her hair), and Topaz Style (yellow/orange pudding-themed attire). She uniquely retains her civilian hair accessory when transformed and lacks ankle bracelets in her base form.
In *Eiga Precure Dream Stars!*, Riko, alongside her Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure teammates, joins forces with other Pretty Cure groups to help Sakura save her home world, Sakuragahara. Traveling to the Magical World with Ichika, Himari, and Aoi, she investigates Mofurun due to a jewel matching a symbol on Sakura's card. A misunderstanding leads her to initially perceive Ichika's group as kidnappers, resulting in a confrontation. She later collaborates with them and other Cures to combat Yokubaru monsters sent by antagonists. Her magical abilities contribute to the collective effort against the primary antagonist, Karasu Tengu, who seeks to steal beauty across worlds.
Personality analyses describe Riko as sociable, empathetic, and creative, with a strong desire to help others and foster harmony. She exhibits independence and adventurousness, often prioritizing others' needs, aligning with Enneagram Type 2 (the Helper). Her growth involves developing confidence in her magical abilities and deepening bonds with teammates like Mirai, reflecting her core belief in the importance of trusting one's own magic.
