Description
Maya Aida, known as Mana Aida in the Japanese version, serves as a central character. This 14-year-old student holds the presidency of the Sea Shell Bay Middle School student council. Her family runs the local restaurant Pigtail. Maya exhibits a cheerful, responsible, and proactive personality, consistently prioritizing others' needs. She excels academically and athletically, earning trust from peers and adults. However, she tends to act impulsively, rushing into situations without thorough planning, such as confronting dangers to protect others without hesitation. This trait extends to her openly accepting supernatural elements like pixies and monsters without skepticism.

Maya possesses magenta eyes and short, flared magenta hair partially styled in a ponytail secured by an off-white bow. Her casual attire typically features pink and white clothing, including a striped shirt under a pale pink top with heart designs, a ruffled skirt, lilac stockings, and pink-and-white sneakers. Her summer outfit consists of a black top under a light pink t-shirt, black leggings, and a layered skirt.

As her alter ego Glitter Heart, representing love, Maya undergoes a dramatic transformation. Her hair becomes bright blond and significantly longer, arranged in curls and a ponytail with looped accessories. She dons a pink dress with winged sleeves, magenta and white straps, a scalloped skirt featuring pale blue and white layers, magenta shorts, and pink-and-white boots adorned with gem hearts. A pink choker, heart earrings, and a long ribbon complete the look. Achieving Parthenon Mode through collective team power and artifacts like the Miracle Dragon Glaive grants her large white wings, a paler outfit, a white ruffled cape, and extended hair.

Maya's origin as a warrior begins during a school orientation at Clover Tower. After aiding a lost child named Katie and encountering the idol Mackenzie Mack, she receives a mysterious charm from a shopkeeper. When a Distain monster attacks, the pixie Kippie—who becomes her transformation partner—guides Maya. Instinctively transforming into Glitter Heart, she rescues the already captured Glitter Spade (Mackenzie), activating her role as a defender.

Her transformation sequence involves placing a Glitter Charm onto Kippie's medallion, declaring "Glitter Force Makeover," and tracing "L-O-V-E" on her Glitter Pad. The process sees her float amidst golden light as her hair grows and changes color, with her costume gradually appearing before a final pose. Her attacks include "Let Your Heart Light Shine" (Episode 2), "Heart Shot" (Episode 11), and "Love Bubble" (Season 2, Episode 9). Group attacks with other Glitter Force members encompass "Togetherness Power Arrow" (Episode 15), "Five of a Kind Glitter Bow" (Season 2, Episode 8), and "Royal Lovely Straight Flush" (Season 2, Episode 10). In Season 2, Episode 6, she gains an unnamed power-up manifesting as a pink aura, enhancing her strength and enabling advanced solo and team attacks.

Key relationships define her journey:
- Rachel (Rikka Hishikawa), her childhood friend and student council secretary, shares a deeply trusting bond where they protect each other unconditionally.
- Clara Yotsuba (Alice Yotsuba), another childhood friend whom Maya and Rachel often cared for and defended, notably during Clara's planned relocation.
- Mackenzie Mack (Makoto Kenzaki), initially met as an idol fan; their relationship is rocky early on due to Mackenzie's aloofness as Glitter Spade but evolves into mutual respect and teamwork.
- Regina, who becomes a close friend in Season 1 before being brainwashed by her father in Season 2. Their friendship fractures temporarily but restores when Regina protects Maya from her father.
- Nicholas, a friend since elementary school whom Maya frequently scolds for mischief, unaware of his secret affection for her.

The etymology of her name reflects her character: "Maya" derives from Hindu concepts of illusion or magic, while "Aida" (相田) combines "togetherness" or "love" (愛) with "field," collectively symbolizing "the love between people." Her Japanese name "Mana" (愛) explicitly means "love," aligning with her nurturing nature.

Trivia notes include her birthday on August 4 (Leo zodiac sign), tone-deafness revealed in Episode 6, and her distinction as the sole pink-themed warrior in her team.
