Description
Jikochuu emerge as supernatural entities from corrupted human psyches, specifically formed when individuals harbor selfish or evil thoughts. The Selfish Trio—Ira, Marmo, and Bel—exploit these thoughts by using Janergy to turn a person's psyche black for extraction. Regina uniquely creates Jikochuu without requiring preexisting selfish thoughts. During transformation, the extracted psyche grows bat wings, expands threefold, and explodes to manifest the Jikochuu, leaving the victim with a heart-shaped black hole until purification.

Physically, Jikochuu share yellow eyes with black irises, dark bat wings, and a grey-outlined black heart symbol. Their coloration varies by creator: Ira's appear light blue, Marmo's purple, and Bel's green. Standard defeat turns them black with pink heart-shaped eyes as they chant "Love!" before disappearing, returning the purified psyche. Enhanced variants include combination Jikochuu formed when deputies like Leva and Gula merge powers, creating entities twice the size and five times stronger. After episode 32, Blood Rings crafted from deputy Janergy produce Jikochuu with red eyes and dual black hearts, further increasing their power.

Jikochuu manifest diverse forms and abilities reflecting their human origins. A traffic light Jikochuu freezes or unfreezes people with colored lights; a soccer ball Jikochuu kicks projectiles; a recycling bin Jikochuu hurls rubbish. Manifestations symbolize the victim's desire—a man wishing to skip queues becomes a crab Jikochuu with trapping pincers, while a dentist hoping for more cavities becomes a drill-equipped rotten tooth Jikochuu.

King Jikochuu serves as the progenitor and leader. Originally the king of Trump Kingdom, he used the Eternal Golden Crown's power to save his terminally ill daughter, Princess Marie Ange. This act released and merged him with the sealed Proto Jikochuu, a primordial entity of dark energy. As King Jikochuu, he orchestrated Trump Kingdom's invasion and dispatched the Selfish Trio to Earth, perpetuating Jikochuu creation to harvest negative energy. His final defeat severs the Proto Jikochuu's corruption, restoring his original form and ending the Jikochuu threat.

The Selfish Trio and their deputies directly command Jikochuu against the Pretty Cure. Trio members occasionally transform themselves by swallowing extracted psyches. Jikochuu are consistently purified by Pretty Cure attacks like Lovely Force Arrow or Royal Lovely Straight Flush, dismantling their forms and restoring stolen psyches. Narrative arcs explore extreme cases like Ai—a Trump Kingdom figure—being lured into becoming a Jikochuu, and Bel merging with Proto Jikochuu only to be consumed and weakened after its defeat.

Etymologically, "Jikochuu" derives from "Jikochūshin" (自己中心), meaning "egocentrism." In the English adaptation, they are termed "Distains," from "disdain."
