Description
Forged by the antagonist Shadow in *Yes! Precure 5: Kagami no Kuni no Miracle Daibōken!*, Dark Dream serves as Cure Dream's dark counterpart. She emerges from a Crystal of the Mirror Kingdom fused with Cure Dream's power, specifically embodying Nozomi Yumehara's past self—her earlier dismissal of relying on others and inability to find happiness through friendship.

Dark Dream exhibits an aggressive, ruthless personality, starkly opposing Cure Dream's optimism. She openly scorns Cure Dream's enthusiasm and rejects friendship as a weakness. Tasked by Shadow, she spies on Cure Dream and her allies in Princess Land. After Shadow absorbs the powers of the other Pretty Cure members, Dark Dream confronts Cure Dream within the Mirror Kingdom, leading the dark counterparts against the original Cures across mirrored dimensions, her designated battleground resembling a carnival.

During their clash, Cure Dream spares Dark Dream despite the chance to destroy her, extending friendship and kindness. This act triggers confusion and emotional conflict within Dark Dream, especially when Cure Dream insists she possesses a heart. When Shadow later attempts a fatal strike on Cure Dream, Dark Dream intervenes, sacrificing herself. Her life essence—a crystal bow—shatters. As she fades, she expresses regret that they couldn't meet differently, conveys love for Cure Dream, and admits she still doesn't fully understand smiling. Yet, she manages a genuine final smile before vanishing.

Post-Shadow's defeat, the mirror crystals restoring the Mirror Kingdom return Dark Dream's essence to its original form. Nozomi mourns their brief connection. Dark Dream's legacy continues in the spin-off *Pretty Cure 5☆Reborn*, where she is reincarnated as Yumehara Kibo. Kibo becomes Cure Starlight while wrestling with fragmented memories and her obscured past identity.

Physically, Dark Dream mirrors Cure Dream with distinct alterations: slightly longer hair featuring sharper bangs and two tented forelocks reaching her chest, styled into two loops secured by a yellow diamond. Her attire is a black two-piece: a tank top bearing a pink butterfly emblem (centered with a pink gem on a green base) and a flower-shaped tutu over dark fuchsia shorts. She wears fingerless gloves extending below the shoulders, each with a large open cuff and a pink diamond on the hand, plus long black boots with violet toe and heel caps and a prominent pink gem at each knee. Pointed ears complete her design, consistent with the other Dark Pretty Cure 5 members.

In combat, Dark Dream employs an unnamed explosive palm attack and an ability akin to Dark Rouge's "Darkness Fire," manifesting as red laser bullets. She holds the distinction of being the only Dark Cure whose transformation sequence is depicted on-screen. Her narrative arc concludes with her crystals restored to the Mirror Kingdom, her personal journey ending with her sacrificial death and subsequent reincarnation.
