Description
Selvaria Bles grew up peacefully in an Eastern Europa village until the First Europan War. An Imperial invasion shattered this peace, triggering the manifestation of her Valkyria powers. Identified as a Valkyria, she was taken to an Imperial research facility and subjected to torturous experiments, during which her mother likely perished. A young Maximilian visited the facility, spoke kindly to her, and secured her rescue. This act ignited deep devotion and romantic feelings, forging her lifelong loyalty to him.
Transferred to Maximilian's royal estate, she received elite education and became his personal aide. Selvaria rose through Imperial military ranks, attaining the position of Brigadier General and membership in the elite Drei Stern unit. Her tactical brilliance and Valkyria abilities earned her the monikers "War Witch" and "Valkyrur Witch." Maximilian warned that overusing her powers could drain her life force, permitting only limited deployment in critical operations.
Commanding Imperial forces during the invasion of Gallia, she wielded her Valkyria powers against Gallian Militia Squad 7, projecting energy, utilizing a near-invulnerable protective aura, and fighting with a Ragnite lance and shield. Confronted by the penal unit "The Nameless" (Squad 422) during an assassination attempt on Maximilian at Ghirlandaio Fortress, she lifted her self-imposed ban on her powers to repel them.
Her final mission occurred after Gallian forces recaptured Ghirlandaio Fortress. Maximilian ordered her to unleash the "Valkyrur Final Flame," a suicide attack requiring her complete life force. Visibly distressed and tearful, she complied on October 8, 1935, destroying the fortress and all personnel inside, including herself. This sacrifice aimed to cripple Gallia's military leadership and advance Imperial objectives.
Outside combat, Selvaria maintained a stoic and dutiful demeanor but possessed personal depth. She cherished cooking, a practice tied to memories of her mother. She expressed disdain for Valkyria experimentation and showed empathy toward others with similar backgrounds, like Crymaria Levin, whom she encouraged to seek happiness. Her character also appears in non-canonical gameplay scenarios across multiple titles as a recruitable unit, retaining core combat abilities such as using the RuHm, a high-capacity rifle, without her Valkyria powers.
