Description
S. Kiano Sawaragi, also known as Number Three, is a Finnish businessman and electronics manufacturer leading the Sawaragi Foundation. He is the father of Juli "J" Sawaragi and Kyouka Sawaragi, possessing grey hair, green eyes, and a prominent chin, typically clad in a green suit with large buttons. His serious, work-oriented personality often renders him distant from his family despite deep underlying care, creating significant tension with J who seeks his approval.

In the anime, Kiano designed the Battle Spirits battle system and co-created the tag battle format with Michael Elliott. His interest in the alternate dimension Isekai World's potential led him to join the Numbers Elite subgroup of the Thousand Spirits Group as Number Three. He attempted to recruit Toppa Bashin, who declined to stay with friends, prompting Kiano's pessimistic reflection on Bashin's idealism. Discovery of his Thousand Spirits affiliation by J strained their relationship further; as chairman of J's middle school, Kiano treated him coldly, especially after J joined as Jack Knight. Their conflicts culminated in a duel where Kiano defeated J using newly released blue cards, claiming it was for J's benefit. Following a loss to Bashin, Kiano resigned from the Thousand Spirits Group to repair family ties. He and Elliott later confronted Number Nine upon uncovering his true plans. Elliott lost their duel, resulting in their capture, though Kiano left an apologetic message for his children.

During the King Uchuuchouten Cup, brainwashed by Number Nine alongside Number Ten, Kiano defeated Meganeko and Kyouka in a tag battle. J, Hayami Bashin, and the pets eventually freed him. Post-tournament, the Sawaragi Foundation assumed management of future Battle Spirits events, signaling Kiano's shift toward supporting the community.

In the manga, Kiano similarly neglected J due to his Thousand Spirits Group role. He confronted Number Nine to halt his plans and demand acceptance of adult responsibilities, but Nine refused. Kiano later aided J and allies against Smile, declaring his intent to protect loved ones.

As a card battler, Kiano specializes in white-attribute decks focused on impregnable defense, building resilient spirit formations and occasionally incorporating blue cards to test new mechanics. Key cards include *The IceBeast Mam-Morl* and defensive magics like *Pure Elixir*. His battle record includes victories against J and the Meganeko/Kyouka team, plus losses to Bashin.
