Description
Hideto Suzuri emerges as a blue card battler defined by an obsessive pursuit of X-rares, employing any means necessary. Childhood bullying and the theft of a cherished card forged his guarded, unsociable demeanor, deep mistrust of others, and strict card-handling rules like demanding trimmed nails before anyone touches his collection.
Introduced with the card-stealing Deathmatch Group, he targeted Mimi Village but stayed after Dan Bashin defeated their leader Jin. He deceived Dan and Sophia to access The Deity Catastrophedragon in a shrine, surviving its traps. Unable to claim it alone, he battled Dan for the card, enduring first-time Grand Rolo combat pain. He nearly decked Dan out using blue deck destruction tactics but lost when Dan summoned Catastrophedragon. This defeat reluctantly tied him to the core soldiers.
Serving Brustom, blue world king, he gained X-rares like The GiantEmperor Alexander, winning early Grand Rolo Championship matches. During a duel against Kenzo, Kadou Yamigarasu temporarily possessed him. His blue world actions—protecting Kajitsu under Mai’s direction (secured by an X-rare bribe) and confronting Kazan—led to him accepting the blue world kingship. He hesitated to leave this role, valuing its respect and authority as a contrast to his bullied past, while feeling inferior to the selfless core soldiers.
When Yuuki Momose challenged him to help save Kajitsu, Suzuri won by deck out, seizing Yuuki’s Walhalance and Gungnir cards. After Dan defeated him later, encouraged by Dan and Yuuki despite hiding initially, he returned Yuuki’s cards and fully joined the core soldiers. He later destroyed the blue Grand Core in the Horizon Ladders mission.
In Brave, he initially relished fame as a bearer of core’s light but grew disillusioned by societal scapegoating and backlash. Traveling solo, he was summoned to the future by Kenzo. Acting as an informant, he committed to finding the 12 Zodiac X-rares for humanity’s war against the mazoku. He located and delivered The MagicalTwinsDeity Geminize, testing it in a warm-up duel with Dan and treating Dan’s injured arm with newfound acupuncture skills. He continued securing X-rares, delivering The PirateDeity Piscegalleon and The SephirothicSheepDeity Sephiro-Aries. Though Eolus claimed The MachineLionDeity Strikewurm-Leo first and took its key, Suzuri stayed with the Sophia during Dan’s final battle before returning to his own time.
As a battler, he specializes in blue decks centered on deck destruction. Key spirits include The GiantHero Titus, The GiantEmperor Alexander, and The GodMadeSoldier Orihalcum-Golem. In Brave, he adopted a hybrid multi-color deck, integrating spirits like the yellow X-rare Geminize and red cards such as Erimakilizard.
