Description
Yuuki Momose is a 15-year-old human male with light blue hair and pale orange eyes. He initially wears white and black robes incorporating his battle form, later adopting a black trench coat over a white outfit. His personality is serious, arrogant, and sometimes cruel, particularly evident during his initial antagonistic phase. Yuuki's actions stem from extreme protectiveness toward his younger sister, Kajitsu Momose, driving him to commit morally ambiguous deeds for her sake.
Both Yuuki and Kajitsu are reincarnations of Otherworlders. In their past lives, Yuuki ruled as the king of the white world, while Kajitsu was the princess of the green world and his lover. After Kajitsu's powers awakened, she endured inhumane experimentation, with Yuuki becoming her sole protector. When her powers unintentionally destroyed their home, they escaped to the human world, reborn as siblings. A white rose surviving a storm during their escape became their symbol of purity; Yuuki adopted the role of the "white rose" for Kajitsu.
Serving as the "White Soldier" and one of Otherworld King's Three Heads, Yuuki wields a white deck focused on protective abilities, featuring key spirits like The ArmoredSacred Walhalance, The WingDeity Grand-Woden, and The Sacred Gungnir. His battle strategies emphasize defense and control, later incorporating green cards after merging his deck with Kajitsu's. Notable battles include victories against Dan Bashin (episodes 3-4), Belga (episode 10), and Leon (episodes 37-38), and a loss to Hideto Suzuri (episode 30).
Yuuki's antagonism includes forcibly transporting Dan to Grand Rolo and attempting to recruit him for Otherworld King. He undergoes a Heel–Face Turn upon realizing his methods worsen Kajitsu's suffering due to her connection to Mother Core. He allies with Dan and the core soldiers in episode 36, lending his power to unify the bearers of the core's light. His devotion culminates in a battle against the assassin Kurotaru, where they combine decks to summon The DoomKnightLord Ragna-Rock and win.
Tragedy strikes when Otherworld King, disguised as a Pantera doll, steals Mother Core's symbol from Kajitsu, causing her death. Despite Yuuki's efforts to revive her—including a trap-laden pursuit of a green butterfly and a battle against Dan—he ultimately accepts her loss. He aids Dan in the final battle against Otherworld King by gifting him the Blizzard Wall card before returning to the real world with the other core soldiers.
In *Battle Spirits Brave*, Yuuki's fate occurs off-screen during the two-year gap after *Gekiha Dan*: he died attempting to clear Kajitsu's name, tarnished during the conflict. *Saga Brave* confirms his death, showing Dan visiting their graves. Yuuki's reincarnation, Zolder Grave, appears in *Brave* and *Mirage*, reuniting with Kajitsu's reincarnation, Flora Perfume, in a rose garden. During a climactic *Mirage* scene, Yuuki's spirit manifests briefly, summoning The IronKnight Yggdrasill X before transforming into Zolder.
