Description
Kōji Mihama originates from the Pretty Rhythm franchise, debuting in Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live before featuring in King of Prism media. Born January 14 into a comfortable household, he lived with his working mother Natsuko Mihama and househusband father Takeyuki Mihama, who taught him cooking, baking, and guitar. His childhood radiated cheerfulness, defined by musical closeness with his father. After Takeyuki's death, Kōji's demeanor darkened, turning him quiet, gloomy, and rarely smiling.

He enrolled at Edel Rose Academy, enduring mockery during his first year for "childish-sounding" music. At 13, he befriended Hiro Hayami, who admired his compositions. Two years later, while preparing for their idol unit debut, Kōji wrote the song "Pride" for their duo. Hiro claimed sole credit at supervisor Jin Norizuki's urging, prompting Kōji to confront Hiro and abandon Edel Rose. This betrayal spiraled him into depression and creative stagnation.

Leaving Edel Rose, Kōji reignited his musical passion after meeting Naru Ayase. He later encountered musician Ito Suzuno, who dismissed his work as "half-hearted." Their relationship sparked amid conflict: when Hiro requested a song from Ito, Kōji intervened, fearing Hiro would steal her work as with "Pride." Though initially angering Ito, he prevented her from giving Hiro a song by relinquishing "Pride" to Hiro instead. Kōji confessed his feelings to Ito, and they began dating.

Family tensions arose from unresolved strife between the Mihama and Suzuno households. Discovering this, Ito tried ending their relationship to maintain family peace. Kōji rejected this, confronting his mother about moving forward and convincing Ito to reconcile. The families eventually settled their feud, permitting Kōji and Ito to continue dating.

Kōji reconciled with Hiro after the Prism King Cup, writing "Freedom" for him. The song’s lyrics—"What we're aiming to be is heroes, not winners"—echoed their middle-school bond, enabling emotional closure. Kōji, Hiro, and Kazuki Nishina then formed the unit Over the Rainbow.

In King of Prism: Shiny Seven Stars, Kōji appears as an Edel Rose alumnus. He accepts a Hollywood film soundtrack offer in America to aid Edel Rose’s debt repayment. His influence persists; Minato Takahashi cites him as inspiration for pursuing both cooking and Prism Shows. Professionally, Kōji hosts a TV cooking show, composes music, and performs in the band "Cross Road" with Ito and her brother Yu Suzuno.

Typically kind and soft-spoken, Kōji is noted by Hiro as easily angered. Shin Ichijō describes him as "kind, but sometimes very strict," a trait Kōji reportedly lacks self-awareness about. He displays a nurturing, motherly side toward loved ones, sustaining passions for music and cooking. He designs costumes for Over the Rainbow and wears his father’s dog tag alongside a matching unit bracelet.
