Movie
Description
Tōka Takanashi is Rikka Takanashi's older sister. After their father's unexpected death from a terminal illness fractured the family, Tōka lived independently due to work while Rikka stayed with their paternal grandparents. Tōka later assumed responsibility for Rikka, and they lived in an apartment above Yuuta Togashi's residence.

She works long hours as a chef at a renowned restaurant. While possessing notable culinary skills, Tōka exhibits shyness when her cooking receives praise. She maintains a consistently serious and expressionless demeanor, occasionally employing deadpan humor. Tōka values her serious image, refusing certain conversations with Rikka to avoid appearing less authoritative or feeling embarrassed. Her strictness is evident when she compels Sanae Dekomori to finish an entire bowl of cheese salad after Dekomori criticized it as disgusting.

Tōka's primary concern is Rikka's persistent chuunibyou behavior, which she views as an unhealthy coping mechanism stemming from their father's death. She initially encourages Yuuta to help Rikka abandon these delusions. Tōka frequently uses a metal ladle to discipline Rikka or others who irritate her. Despite her stern approach, subtle jealousy surfaces regarding Yuuta's closer relationship with Rikka.

She opposes Rikka living independently, advocating instead for structured family oversight. In the events of "Chuunibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai Movie -Take On Me", Tōka announces plans to relocate Rikka to Italy, aiming to remove her from Yuuta's influence, which triggers Rikka and Yuuta's elopement across Japan.

Background elements reveal Tōka was a rhythmic gymnast in high school, contributing to her flexibility. She harbors an allergy to cats, resulting in Yuuta caring for Rikka's cat. While her interactions decrease in the second season, she informs Shinka Nibutani, Sanae Dekomori, and Kumin Tsuyuri about Satone Shichimiya's situation, prompting their intervention.

Tōka's character evolves from confrontational authority to a more nuanced presence, balancing strict expectations with underlying concern for Rikka's well-being. Her actions, including financial support and apartment provision, reflect a commitment to stability despite disagreements over Rikka's coping mechanisms and relationships.
