Description
Aranaut is a Haos attribute Bakugan from Neathia, designed with knight and ninja elements and a platinum-sparkling body. He displays a gentlemanly personality and steadfast loyalty to the Castle Knights, frequently declaring victory in their name. In combat, Aranaut excels equally in offense, defense, speed, and reflexes, projecting electromagnetic fields from his hands. His primary Battle Gear, Battle Crusher, enhances his combat effectiveness.
Originally the guardian Bakugan of Jin, Fabia Sheen's fiancé, Aranaut was captured by the Gundalian Kazarina following Jin's defeat against Lumagrowl. Fabia rescued him from Kazarina's lab, preserving him as her last link to Jin. Though Aranaut initially seemed to have forgotten Jin and believed he always partnered with Fabia, he later confessed to feigning this amnesia to shield Fabia from her grief over Jin's death. This deception continued until circumstances forced the truth to emerge.
In Bakugan: New Vestroia, Aranaut debuted alongside Coredem, Hawktor, and Akwimos within Bakugan Interspace. He battled Baron Leltoy and Saint Nemus, achieving victory using Battle Crusher. A digital clone of Aranaut later appeared as a potential partner for Jake Vallory, though Jake ultimately chose Coredem.
Throughout Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders, Aranaut served as Fabia's primary partner. His first battle against Dan Kuso's Helix Dragonoid ended in defeat, forcing Fabia to retreat. Subsequent battles yielded mixed results: he lost to Plitheon due to arena sabotage by Ren, defeated Linehalt and Rubanoid to test Ren's loyalty after Ren defected to Neathia, and suffered multiple losses against Lumagrowl. Key engagements included defending Neathia's Sacred Orb alongside allies against Gundalian forces and a pivotal battle in "Forgiveness" confronting his past with Jin. During the war's climax, he participated in the Gundalian palace assault, survived Phantom Dharak's attack on Neathia, and aided in teleporting humans back to Earth.
In Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge, Aranaut partnered with Neathian Captain Elright. He appeared in "Gundalia Under Fire," aiding Gundalian forces against Mag Mel's Chaos Bakugan while equipped with the Mobile Assault Rapilator. His final depicted battle involved fighting Chaos Bakugan alongside Linehalt and Aquos Splights.
Aranaut utilized numerous Ability Cards. Key abilities included Mirage Up (adding 300 Gs), Vector Fist (adding 400 Gs), Mirage Fist (nullifying opponent abilities while transferring 200 Gs), Mirage Jet (subtracting 300 Gs from opponents), Light Wave (nullifying opponent abilities), and Aurora Impact (subtracting 400 Gs from opponents). Support Light and Valkyrie Fist nullified opponent Gate Cards, while Dual Commando augmented all allied Aranauts by 200 Gs.
In the physical toy line, Aranaut was released across all six attributes. His ball form differed from the anime, featuring a shorter, wider design with mechanical arms that complicated compatibility with some Battle Gear. Documented G-Power variations were:
- Haos: 540 Gs (Japan), 680 Gs, 740 Gs (translucent), 760 Gs, 770 Gs, 800 Gs
- Darkus: 720 Gs, 760 Gs, 810 Gs
- Pyrus: 730 Gs, 750 Gs, 760 Gs
- Aquos: 650 Gs, 780 Gs
- Subterra: 640 Gs, 740 Gs
- Ventus: 620 Gs, 700 Gs, 780 Gs.
