Description
Botasky, also called Bota, is a Dutch rabbit soldier introduced in the original *Cat Shit One* manga. Serving as the radio operator for the reconnaissance team Cat Shit One during the Vietnam War, he displays frequent cowardice in combat and voices racist attitudes, particularly against Asian people, while remaining unaware that brands like Sony and Honda are Japanese.

After the Vietnam War, Botasky leaves military service and achieves significant commercial success by founding a multinational fast-food chain. By the time of the sequel manga *Cat Shit One '80*, he expands his business into Asian markets. He leverages his connections with the Chinese government to facilitate smuggling Chinese-manufactured weapons to Afghan mujahideen forces, indirectly supporting their insurgency against the Soviet occupation.

In the animated adaptation, Botasky operates as a private military contractor in the Middle East alongside his former teammate Perkins. During a hostage rescue mission, he acts as the sniper while Perkins serves as spotter and team leader. Botasky's composure shatters when enemy forces compromise his sniper position, causing visible panic that forces Perkins to intervene and eliminate the threat. Initially obeying orders to escort rescued hostages to safety, Botasky later disobeys by returning to aid Perkins, who faces overwhelming terrorist reinforcements. This act demonstrates regained courage and loyalty under extreme duress.

The animated version blends core manga traits like vulnerability with narrative progression where he confronts his fears. His role and equipment differ from the source material; instead of being a radio operator, he wields a Mk 14 marksman rifle in a tactical sniper role during contemporary Middle Eastern operations.
