Description
Toya Kamijo, alias Shadow in Wonderland, serves as the older twin brother to Asagi Kamijo (Light). In reality, Toya displays warmth, friendliness, and sociability, frequently excusing his brother's antisocial tendencies while voicing a wish to grow closer to Arisa Minase—a dynamic coexisting with the twins' mutual friction.

When Arisa enters Wonderland, Shadow first emerges as courteous, cheerful, and supportive, guiding her through confusion. He embodies effeminate mannerisms and interests, noted as "cuter than any girl" with a doll-like aesthetic, habitually posing with a hand near his face. His docile, naive demeanor crafts a charming veneer, though subtle irritations flare when Arisa engages other males—especially Light—hinting at latent instability.

Shadow's past holds pivotal trauma: he confessed love to Alice (Arisa's past self) despite insecurity and story prohibitions. Unable to distinguish the twins, Alice commanded the Black Rabbit to scar Light's cheek. Shadow interpreted his unscarred face as proof of her preference for him, yet Alice still failed to recognize him afterward. This rejection, coupled with her abrupt Wonderland departure out of boredom—erasing her memories and birthing her life as Arisa—ignited Shadow's bitter grudge against Light and obsessive fixation on Alice.

In Light's route, Shadow's jealousy escalates from passive-aggressive comments to physical violence. He manipulates by fabricating dreams to turn Arisa against Light and warps reality via the storybook. In one instance, he drugs Arisa and Light, rapes Arisa while forcing Light to watch, citing "anger" as motivation. Another ending sees him accidentally kill Light during a clash, triggering a mental collapse where he impersonates his brother. Outcomes diverge: reconciliation after Light shows humility, or Wonderland's collapse when Shadow destroys the storybook, plunging him into a void. There, he either drags Arisa down or embraces self-destruction following a fleeting redemption plea.

Within his own route, Shadow intensifies manipulation—framing Light for attempted rape, isolating Arisa from allies, and coercing her into forest sexual acts under false romantic pretenses. After Arisa speaks with Light, Shadow drugs her, rapes her blindfolded while mocking her inability to tell the twins apart and demanding hatred for Light. He imprisons her for days, rationalizing abuse as "protection" and insisting she enjoys it despite protests. This path concludes in either endless captivity or a breakdown where he admits his actions as self-destructive and egotistical, possibly leading to reconciliation.

Psychologically, Shadow epitomizes the "Yandere" archetype: obsessive love curdles into violent possessiveness and sadism, fueled by entitlement and unhealed trauma. He wields mind control, sexual violence, and reality manipulation, endangering Wonderland and reality. His persona oscillates between counterfeit charm and psychotic ruptures, marked by Villainous Breakdowns where his voice deepens and polite masks shatter into fury.
