Description
Leonhardt, also known as Loewe, stands as a central figure in the narrative. Once a kind and justice-driven man, the Tragedy of Hamel—which destroyed his village and claimed the life of his beloved, Karin Astray—reshaped him entirely. Betrayed by the world and its political structures, he grew bitterly cold and serious, though he retained a measure of his former caring nature, especially toward those closest to him.
He assumed the false identity of Lieutenant Lorence Belgar, operating within the Royal Army Intelligence Division while secretly advancing the aims of Ouroboros. As Enforcer No. II, he bore the title Bladelord, a testament to his exceptional swordsmanship and combat prowess. His weapon was Kernviter, a blade forged through Divergent Laws and gifted by the Grandmaster, renowned for its ability to cut through nearly anything.
His connection to Joshua Astray, Karin’s younger brother and a fellow survivor of Hamel, formed a crucial part of his story. Feeling a protective responsibility toward Joshua, Leonhardt guided them both into Ouroboros after a traveling priest offered to help the boy cope with his trauma. Despite his antagonistic role and icy exterior, Leonhardt consistently shielded Joshua from serious harm, a sign of his enduring care and complex honor.
Within Ouroboros, he took part in the Gospel Plan under Weissmann, the Third Anguis, though he held a deep contempt for the man’s manipulation and weaponization of Joshua. Leonhardt’s actions were driven by a desire to witness humanity’s true potential and to transform the world—a near-fanatical dedication to Karin’s memory. His arc culminated in a sacrificial act to free Joshua and his companions from Weissmann’s control, a choice that resulted in his death.
Leonhardt was tall with sharp, silver ash-blonde hair and deep lavender eyes. He wore a long grey-brown coat with a high collar, a black shirt, grey trousers, and black shoes with red protective coverings, accented by a red belt and a red choker from which hung a medallion.
In combat, he was left-handed. His corresponding Tarot card, The High Priestess, symbolized both his character and his devotion to Karin. He remains the only known Enforcer to have died.
