TV Special
Description
Earwig's mother abandons her infant daughter at St. Morwald's Home for Children in the 1990s, arriving on a motorcycle while pursued by a yellow car. She uses magic to conjure worms from her thick curly red hair to impede her pursuers. A handwritten note left with the baby states the child's name is Earwig and that she must evade twelve witches before returning. This act confirms her identity as a witch fleeing her coven for violating witch code, the specific nature of which remains unknown but includes possibilities like becoming a mother.

She possesses exceptional beauty and shows no signs of aging over the years. Her personality reflects willfulness and independence, demonstrated by defying coven rules and eventually returning for Earwig despite the risks.

Before Earwig's birth, she was the lead singer of a rock band named Earwig, featuring Bella Yaga and Mandrake. The band dissolved before she left the coven, creating unresolved tensions with her former bandmates; flashbacks hint at a prior romantic connection with Mandrake.

Her narrative concludes with an unexpected arrival at Mandrake and Bella Yaga's residence during Christmas, shortly after Earwig has gained control of the household. Her reappearance coincides with the visit of Earwig's friend Custard, creating an unresolved confrontation at the doorstep. The circumstances of her escape from the twelve witches, her intentions regarding Earwig, and the future of her interactions with Bella Yaga and Mandrake remain undisclosed. The coven subplot concerning the twelve witches also lacks resolution.
