Description
Chup hails from a village razed by Sultan Vinegar Chips of Vinegar Industries, who destroyed it after residents refused eviction for leisure facility construction. This act killed his mother, fueling his revenge quest against Vinegar. He possesses a hyperactive, justice-driven personality and undertakes dangerous quests for Princess Melonia of Tutti-Frutti Kingdom, driven by romantic infatuation. His loyalty leads him to accept her often frivolous or impulsive requests. Chup displays emotional vulnerability, experiencing intense grief and exaggerated tears following traumatic events like his mother's death.
He forms a core adventuring group with Mayonna, Béarnaise, Gobson, and the female pig-nosed dragon Pigsy. This team supports his quests across Tutti-Frutti and beyond. His strong bond with Pigsy later enables their fusion into "Dragon Knight Legend Chup". Chup progresses significantly in combat, starting with a Crystal Sword. He attains the rank of Dragon Knight alongside Velouté and the player character after training at Chowlin Temple under Grandmaster Chowderagon. This training involves mastering Kung Fooyung techniques and trials overseen by the Millennial Falgon. His Dragon Knight status evolves further through fusion and overcoming challenges like the "Countrywide Combatant Contest", where he competes for a wish-granting treasure.
Key story involvement includes pursuing Vinegar to retrieve the Dragon Heart artifact, which Vinegar seeks to revive the deodragon Smörg Åsbord. Chup participates in pivotal battles, defeating Dullardhan at Chickén Itzá and confronting Smörg Åsbord at Al-Dante's Alcazar. He also aids in resolving conflicts caused by Vinegar's subordinate Balsam, who disrupts the combatant contest using Roar Mix to enrage Falgon. Training at Chowlin Temple reveals deeper connections, as Chup learns he shares the destroyed hometown of Stilton with Velouté and Grandmaster Chowderagon. This revelation fuels his resolve against Vinegar and shapes his identity beyond revenge.
