Laurie Hymes is an American voice actress known for her extensive work in English dubs of anime series and films. Born on March 5, 1982, in San Diego, California, she began her career in voice acting in 2013 and quickly became a prominent figure in the industry, particularly for her roles in various animated productions.
Hymes is perhaps best recognized by anime fans for her long-standing contribution to the Pokémon franchise. Starting in 2014 with Pokémon the Series: XY, she voiced numerous characters, landing two of her most significant roles: the Team Flare scientist Mable and Lillie, a main character in Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon, a part she played for over 160 episodes. Her work in the Pokémon world also extends to films, where she provided the voice for Prince Raleigh (also referred to as Rali in some sources) in Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.
Beyond Pokémon, Hymes has voiced leading roles in a variety of other notable anime adaptations. She is the English voice of Chup in the CG anime series The Snack World. In film, she voiced the character Laetitia in the 3DCG feature Lupin III: THE FIRST. She also took on dramatic roles in critically acclaimed anime films, such as Mizore Yoroizuka in Liz and the Blue Bird and Miura-sensei in Fireworks, Should We See It from the Side or the Bottom?. Her filmography also includes voice work in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, playing Saya Sasayama in Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V and appearing in Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions.
Her career also encompasses a wide range of other animated series. She has voiced lead characters in children's shows such as Alisa in Alisa Knows What to Do!, the title character Caillou in Caillou's New Adventures, Sonya in Be-be-Bears, and Vicky Broomstick in Regal Academy. Hymes resides in New York City and is married to fellow voice actor Ryan Nicolls, who also lends his voice to the Pokémon series.
