Description
Prince Rali is the prince of the mechanized Azoth Kingdom and a direct descendant of Nikola, the scientist who created the artificial Pokémon Magearna centuries earlier. His younger sister is Princess Kimia, and together they represent the royal lineage.

From a young age, Rali developed a deep fascination with arcane science and the historical achievements of his ancestor Nikola. He dedicated entire days to poring over Nikola's texts and conducting experiments, forging a close relationship with Alva, the kingdom's counselor and an arcane science researcher. This bond led Rali to place complete trust in Alva, believing the minister's actions, including the retrieval of Magearna, served the kingdom's benefit.

His trust proves severely misplaced. When Alva captures Magearna, Rali initially expresses excitement about their plans progressing. However, Alva promptly betrays him, using Gengar's Mean Look to paralyze Magearna before wresting its Soul-Heart. Rali attempts to intervene but is physically restrained by Alva's subordinate Dohga, forced to witness the extraction that leaves Magearna lifeless. Alva reveals his true intention to seize control of the Azoth Kingdom before commanding Gengar to render Rali unconscious with Hypnosis.

Following Alva's defeat, Rali awakens and reunites with Kimia. Profoundly affected by his naivety and the trauma of betrayal, he accepts advice from Ash Ketchum to broaden his perspective beyond historical study. He departs the kingdom on a personal Pokémon journey accompanied by his Slurpuff, aiming to experience the world directly rather than solely through texts. This decision signifies a pivotal shift from his sheltered existence focused on the past toward seeking firsthand understanding of the present.

His character consistently demonstrates a well-meaning but dangerously naive personality, particularly in his unwavering faith in Alva despite evidence of the minister's cruelty, including the torture of Pokémon through forced Mega Evolution and the assault on Nebel Plateau. His fixation on arcane science and history blinded him to Alva's manipulations until directly confronted by the minister's violence against Magearna and himself.
