Wiseman served as the main antagonist in the series' second arc, a deliberate disguise created by the Mechtogan Coredegon. He copied the appearance and mannerisms of the human brawler Gunz Lazar to manipulate the Battle Brawlers and frame Gunz for crimes, replicating Gunz's blond hair and battling style though Wiseman's hair appeared a lighter blond. This impersonation functioned as a strategic red herring to conceal Coredegon's true nature and goals.
His primary objective was ending the peaceful coexistence between humans and Bakugan. To achieve this, Wiseman orchestrated the release of the ancient Nonet Bakugan—Betadron, Kodokor, Mutabrid, Spatterix, Stronk, Worton, Balista, and Tremblar—from their imprisonment in the Doom Dimension by Genesis Dragonoid. He manipulated the Nonets by exploiting their desire for freedom, convincing them he needed their help against the Battle Brawlers. Simultaneously, he commanded Slycerak, Exostriker, and Mandibor, three powerful Bakugan capable of combining into the colossal Mechtogan Destroyer, Mechtavius Destroyer. This entity was his ultimate weapon for devastating Bakugan City and severing the human-Bakugan alliance.
Wiseman engaged in numerous battles against the Battle Brawlers, deploying the Nonets individually or in groups, often utilizing stolen Bakugan Battle Suits to enhance their combat. Confrontations occurred in locations like construction sites, volcanic islands, power plants, and Bakugan Land, where he posed as a clown. His battle record was poor, securing only two victories out of twelve documented fights. His first win occurred in "Countdown to Doomsday" when he summoned Mechtavius Destroyer. Key losses happened when the Battle Brawlers used combinations like Dragonoid Destroyer with Jaakor and Reptak, or when new Mechtogan like Flytris and Thorak countered his strategies.
Wiseman's true identity as Coredegon was progressively revealed. After trapping the real Gunz Lazar in a cave, he unveiled his copied form to the Battle Brawlers in "Gunz Blazing," intensifying their suspicion of Gunz. The ruse collapsed in "Battle Suit Bash," exposing him as an imposter. Later, in "Enemy Infiltration," he betrayed the Nonets by sacrificing Balista to summon Slycerak, Exostriker, and Mandibor, confirming his malicious intent. The final revelation came in "Gunz Lives," where he discarded the Wiseman persona, transforming into Coredegon before the Battle Brawlers and remaining Nonets. He explained the disguise originated from exploiting Gunz's jealousy toward Dan Kuso. Coredegon permanently abandoned the Wiseman identity in "Evil Evolution," casting off the helmet. This act prompted Gunz to briefly adopt the "Wiseman" identity out of rage before relinquishing it.
Coredegon's ultimate defeat involved temporal conflict. After transforming, he merged with Slycerak, Exostriker, and Mandibor to form Mechtavius Destroyer, aiming to obliterate Bakugan City and New Vestroia. The Battle Brawlers, aided by Gunz and Reptak, traveled back in time to prevent this future. In the climax, Dragonoid Destroyer—empowered by energy from Chromopod (a Mechtogan created by Gunz and Reptak), Flytris, and Thorak—destroyed Mechtavius Destroyer, erasing Coredegon from existence. This victory nullified Wiseman's legacy and restored stability.
