Description
Radizen is a BakuFusion Bakugan, serving exclusively in the Mechtanium Surge season as Marucho Marukura's sixth Guardian Bakugan. His physical design draws inspiration from the kappa of Japanese folklore. During combat, vertical wings extend for surprise attacks, and a metallic horn fires energy bullets capable of penetrating enemy armor. While typically depicted with the Aquos attribute, toy variants exist across Subterra, Ventus, Pyrus, Darkus, and Aquos, featuring G-Power levels ranging from 810 to 1100 depending on the release.
Personality-wise, Radizen exhibits a brash and initially overconfident demeanor, refusing assistance in early battles. Underneath this assertiveness lies insecurity, particularly about his status as a non-Sky Raider Bakugan compared to peers like Dragonoid Destroyer. This drives him to seek help from Mira Fermin to improve his compatibility with launching systems. His character incorporates comedic traits, including clumsiness and jokester behavior, consistent with Marucho's previous Guardians. In the Japanese version, he speaks with a formal "keigo" accent.
Radizen debuts in battle against Subterra Luxtor in "Evil Arrival," winning using the ability "Slam Reef." Subsequent battles reveal limitations, resulting in losses to opponents like Reptak and Mandibor. Proving incompatible with Dragonoid Destroyer leads Mira to provide the Battle Suit "Blasterate" as an alternative power source. His insecurity resurfaces in "Combination Impossible," expressing frustration over an inability to fuse like Drago and Jaakor, prompting him to seek Mira's assistance again. This ultimately results in his pivotal fusion with Roxtor to form Betakor, defeating Wiseman's forces. Throughout the arc, Radizen battles Wiseman, the Nonets, and Mechtavius Destroyer alongside allies. Key moments include receiving the Battle Suit "Clawbruk" from Runo Misaki and, during the final confrontation, acquiring the Mechtogan Flytris. This partnership enables Radizen to contribute significantly to Mechtavius Destroyer's defeat.
Radizen utilizes several Ability Cards in combat: "Slam Reef," "Deep Descent," "Zap Screen," "Luster Drain," "Abyss Blade," "Matter Shield," "Keep Saver," "Slash Boomerang," and "Slatch Reef." He holds the distinction of being the first BakuFusion Bakugan introduced in the anime. He is also noted for his unique lack of mouth movement during speech and his keigo speech pattern in the Japanese version.
