Description
Asuka Kudō hails from a wealthy post-World War II Japanese family. Her Gift "Authority" forced absolute obedience from others, creating profound isolation despite her privilege. This power manifests through verbal commands controlling living beings, manipulating objects, and enhancing weaker Gifts or tools, like empowering a sword. Dissatisfied with a world bound to her will, she accepted an enigmatic invitation to Little Garden, seeking genuine relationships and challenges free from her influence.

Physically, she is a fair-skinned 15-year-old with long black hair in twin tails secured by red ribbons and bright blue eyes. In Little Garden, she discards her original white shirt and black skirt for a striking red gown featuring puffed shoulders, a white bust section, a red corset, and large hip bows. She accessorizes with white silk gloves while keeping her original hair ribbons and heels.

Her personality blends aristocratic confidence with underlying compassion. Initially perceived as spoiled and blunt, she reveals warmth through immediate pledges of friendship to Yō Kasukabe and fierce protective loyalty towards allies like the fairy Merun. She exhibits childlike excitement encountering unfamiliar concepts like Halloween, contrasting her typically composed demeanor. Moral rigidity drives her to confront injustices, such as challenging community leader Galdo Gaspar upon learning he murdered hostage children.

Her abilities expand in Little Garden beyond "Authority." She acquires additional Gifts: "Deen," a red automaton golem bestowed by 130 Rattenfänger spirits; a Water Tree sapling; and a silver sword used strategically in Gift Games. She employs tactical intelligence during conflicts, demonstrated when dissecting Gaspar's coercion methods and identifying weaknesses in opponents like his vampire-augmented beast form.

Character development emerges through her integration into the No-Names community. Initially motivated by personal amusement, she shifts toward communal responsibility, participating in restoring the group’s resources and reputation. Interactions with Izayoi Sakamaki challenge her self-righteousness, while her bond with Black Rabbit evolves from pragmatic alliance to mutual respect. Light novel depictions show expanded combat roles, such as summoning Deen directly during the Rattenfänger incident, differing from the anime’s portrayal.

Key relationships define her journey: a supportive rivalry with Izayoi; a nurturing dynamic with Yō; mentorship under Black Rabbit; and protective instincts toward younger No-Names members like Jin Russel. Unresolved connections to her unnamed great-grandfather and original-world servants hint at deeper backstory elements.
