Description
Momotarō Tsurugi is the main protagonist of Sakigake!! Otoko Juku and serves as the head of the first-year students at Otokojuku, later becoming the school's overall representative. He is commonly referred to by the nickname Momo by his comrades. His most recognizable traits are the thick white hachimaki he always wears, a katana he carries with a red hilt, and a calm, laid‑back demeanor that often leads him to doze off during class. Despite his relaxed appearance, he is highly intelligent and perceptive, fluent in multiple languages including English and French, and possesses a sharp mind capable of outmaneuvering even the school’s formidable headmaster.
Little is known about his past before entering Otokojuku. He underwent rigorous training at a temple where he mastered the Shoukyuu Soudan technique, and later trained at the temple called Wanghuji, where he learned the secret style of Shinki Kokon. His father, Ken Jintaro, was a principled politician, and the hachimaki that Momo wears is an heirloom passed down from his father. After graduating from Otokojuku, he attended the University of Tokyo, studied abroad at Harvard University, and eventually became the Prime Minister of Japan in later story arcs.
