Heihachi Edajima, born in 1928, founded and leads Otokojuku, an all-boys private school established over 300 years ago to forge delinquent youth into honorable Japanese men through extreme physical and mental training. Displaying exceptional intellect early, he passed Tokyo Imperial University entrance exams at age 11 or 12. His youth merged academic rigor with martial discipline, while a fortune teller foretold he would "rule the nation" yet endure misfortune in money and romance. During World War II, he achieved the rank of Rear Admiral and undertook significant wartime operations, including the capture of Mao Zedong.
