Description
Amane Todoroki embodies honesty and impulsiveness, often acting without extensive forethought. Her personal philosophy, captured in the catchphrase "Even if someone asks me, 'Can you really do that?,' I don't really know. But I want to believe! After all, nothing will start if I don't believe!," fuels her maximum effort in all pursuits. She experiences emotions intensely, crying easily over minor events. Amane leads the small performance troupe "Nought" to entertain audiences.

She possesses the unique ISH ("Incomprehensible Skill of Humans-beings"), enabling her to transform imagined concepts into tangible reality. Her primary motivation for using this power is to provide purpose for her bodiless twin sister, Lilian, a disembodied consciousness. Their collaborative ISH performances aim to create shared existence and meaning. This drive stems from familial loss; Amane and Lilian were orphaned by their parents' death in a car accident when Amane was young, the incident causing Lilian's disembodied state.

Amane's activities draw the attention of researcher Hasudou, who conducts unethical experiments on espers to exploit their abilities. He targets Amane due to her manifestation of multiple ISH capabilities. The central conflict erupts when Aya, a highly skilled magician from the rival group "I.A.M." who also possesses ISH abilities, confronts Amane. Initially antagonistic under Hasudou's manipulation, Aya captures Amane. Hasudou subjects Amane to physical examination and restraint, involving a school swimsuit and straps, seeking to harness her powers.

Amane escapes confinement and confronts Aya. Their conflict escalates into a battle deploying their ISH abilities. During this confrontation, Amane appeals to Aya using themes of camaraderie and shared experience, successfully persuading her to abandon her adversarial role. Following this resolution, the overarching threat posed by Hasudou diminishes abruptly. Throughout, Amane remains defined by her unwavering commitment to Lilian and her performances, her resilience against exploitation, and her capacity to forge emotional connections, focusing on protecting Lilian's purpose and navigating her powers' consequences.
