Description
Fuchi recurs across multiple stories in the Junji Ito Collection, a cannibalistic entity who simultaneously pursues a professional modeling career despite her monstrous appearance. Her background and actions remain consistent throughout official media adaptations.

Her initial appearance occurs in "Rumors," introduced via a magazine photograph that captivates Souichi Tsujii. She later physically manifests from the "Virgin Pool" swamp, rumored to enhance beauty. When Souichi attempts to photograph someone else there, Fuchi surfaces, revealing her enormous size and hostility towards unauthorized photography. She attacks Souichi, intending to consume him for violating her perceived copyright.

Her primary narrative unfolds in "Fashion Model." A film crew hires Fuchi for an indie movie, leveraging her modeling status to elevate their project. During filming in a forest, she develops an obsessive fixation on the scriptwriter, Iwasaki, after a crew member jokingly claims he admires her. Her jealousy escalates towards the lead actress, Tamae Mori, culminating in Fuchi killing and consuming Tamae to seize the starring role. She subsequently murders and consumes another crew member, Miyake, during a chase. The story concludes ambiguously with Fuchi capturing Iwasaki alive, expressing satisfaction at being alone with him.

Fuchi makes a final appearance in "Voices in the Dark," featured within Souichi's nightmare. In this dream, she is married to Souichi, and they cohabitate in a haunted house with their son, Binzo Tsujii. Souichi shows affection for Binzo but intense fear towards Fuchi. The nightmare ends with Fuchi consuming both Souichi and Binzo after discovering them hiding. This scenario is later clarified as non-literal, stemming from Souichi's subconscious fears.

Physically, Fuchi possesses an unnaturally tall, slender stature with a bony facial structure, sharp features, and perpetually slightly sealed lips concealing razor-sharp fangs. Her size fluctuates between stories—appearing human-scale in "Fashion Model" while manifesting as a giant emerging from the swamp in "Rumors." She typically wears ordinary clothing, though depicted in a bikini during the swamp sequence.

Her personality exhibits duality. During professional engagements like modeling or acting, she maintains a stoic and polite demeanor despite her terrifying appearance. However, when provoked or hunting, she becomes remorselessly sadistic, deriving pleasure from toying with and consuming victims. Triggers include unauthorized photography and perceived disrespect, such as being overlooked for a desired role. She displays selective restraint, initially sparing Iwasaki due to personal attraction, though this aligns with her self-serving nature.

Fuchi's origins and nature remain unexplained across all media. She demonstrates supernatural traits, including size alteration, survival after apparent consumption of victims, and an ability to sustain a modeling career despite evoking universal terror. Her motives intertwine vanity, hunger, and a possessive inclination toward individuals she fixates upon.
