Description
Former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Tim Gilliam betrayed the organization to align with Loki, assuming leadership of the human criminal group Celebrity Five under Loki's command. He actively assisted Loki's attack on the Raft prison, freeing supervillains and sabotaging S.H.I.E.L.D. operations. Gilliam intercepted Akira and Hikaru Akatsuki during their escape with the biocode installer, ordering M.O.D.O.K. to destroy it. This resulted in the accidental biocode implantation into five children and the global scattering of hero and villain DISKs.
Gilliam possessed a Tech Biocode, enabling him to D-Smash and control technology-based villains like M.O.D.O.K. and Crimson Dynamo. As Loki's primary scientific operative, he developed advanced technology, including a teleportation system linking Loki's ice palace to global locations. He later oversaw completion of the Power Transfer device designed to siphon DISK-imprisoned beings' abilities directly to Loki, identifying and correcting deliberate flaws inserted by Dr. Nozomu Akatsuki.
Following Loki's defeat and banishment to the Dark Dimension, Gilliam and the Celebrity Five were apprehended. Confident their retained biocodes would secure negotiation, they were instead broken out by Crossbones and forcibly recruited into Hydra under Red Skull. Gilliam resented the manual labor beneath his expertise. Guarding one of Red Skull's Gaia Anchors, he and his team betrayed Hydra, aiding Edward Grant and Hulk in destroying the anchor to ensure Red Skull's failure.
After Hydra's dissolution, Gilliam and his team became fugitives. Salvaging resources from their old base, Loki contacted them from the Dark Dimension, restored their biocodes, and ordered preparations for his return. Gilliam orchestrated an attack on a security conference to lure the Avengers into a trap for Loki to absorb Iron Man's Build Up Armor energy. Loki later dispatched Ronin to lead the Celebrity Five. Gilliam accompanied Ronin to retrieve a computer chip from Loki's abandoned ice palace and to steal the Treasures of Darkness artifacts needed to power a portal device for Dormammu's release.
Gilliam participated in the final confrontation against the Avengers at the Dark Gate device site, deploying villains Bi-Beast and Iron Monger before being defeated. Despite Ronin opening the portal to the Dark Dimension, Dormammu and Loki betrayed the Celebrity Five, dragging Gilliam into the Dark Dimension. He ultimately escaped this dimension under unclear circumstances, remaining at large.
