Description
Syrup is a fairy who debuted in *Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!* as a delivery boy, partnered with Mailpo to transport letters anywhere. He possesses the ability to transform into two distinct forms: a human identity named Amai Shiroh and a giant bird for aerial transport. Afflicted by amnesia, he cannot recall his past, driving his quest for the Rose Pact to access the Cure Rose Garden and regain his memories. His past involves working for Eternal and a close relationship with Flora, who raised him.

Physically, Syrup resembles a bird-like fairy with tan feathers, green streaks on his head, a partially white face, brown eyebrows and belly, yellow webbed feet, and a red scarf. As the teenage Amai Shiroh, his human form has scruffy hair, an orange uniform over a brown shirt, a red necktie, a blue waist-bag, trousers, and brown shoes. His adult human form features more ruffled hair, a light brown vest over a beige long-sleeved shirt, dark green trousers, brown shoes, and retains the red necktie.

Initially distrusting and hostile, Syrup holds a strong grudge against Coco, viewing him as a liar. He frequently questions his association with the Pretty Cure team but gradually becomes more friendly and trusting. He is straightforward, hardworking, and possesses a notable love for pancakes, often working at the school lunch café to satisfy this craving. His relationships develop significantly: after initial harshness, he bonds with Urara Kasugano (Cure Lemonade), learning music from her and harboring feelings for her. He also warms to Nozomi Yumehara (Cure Dream), recognizing her kindness, and eventually reconciles with Coco and Nuts despite early resentment.

A pivotal story arc involves his betrayal: motivated by his grudge against Coco and tempted by Eternal's Anacondy, he steals the Rose Pact. However, remembering the Cures' kindness, he ultimately refuses to hand it over, becoming their steadfast ally. After Eternal's defeat, he witnesses Flora's death and accepts guardianship of the Cure Rose Garden, maintaining his friendship with Mailpo.

In the film *Okashi no Kuni no Happy Birthday!*, Syrup accompanies the Pretty Cure team to the Dessert Kingdom for Nozomi's birthday. He assists in transportation via his bird form and becomes trapped in bubbles by antagonists Mushiban, Dry, and Bitter alongside other fairy companions. Freed by Mailpo using a fork provided by Princess Chocola, he initially accuses her of betrayal but later feels remorse upon learning she aided his escape. He participates in the rescue, carrying team members to confront the villains and supporting the kingdom's defense.

In the sequel *Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~*, Syrup continues as the Cure Rose Garden's guardian, noting new flower buds like Nozomi's Time Flower. He delivers letters to maintain communication, such as those from Kurumi to Coco. He intervenes during threats, using his bird form to save characters like Bunbee, Saki, and Mai from Shadows. His bond with Urara remains significant: he visits her during career struggles, admits she inspired his musical pursuits, and collaborates with her to calm others through song. He learns guitar to compose music for her and assists her in confronting Shadows by transporting her inside phone networks.

His human alias, Amai Shiroh, allows public movement. After revealing himself at the Pretty Cures' school, he works at the lunch café in exchange for unlimited food, primarily pancakes. The name "Amai" (甘, meaning "sweet") references his true name "Syrup," while "Shiroh" uses part of his name and shares pronunciation with the Japanese word for "white" (白).
