Description
Rachel Van Helsing, a Marvel Comics character debuting in *Tomb of Dracula* #3 (July 1972), is a human woman with striking blue eyes, blonde hair, and a height of 5 feet 8 inches. Her appearance bears a lasting scar across her forehead, inflicted by Dracula during a childhood assault. As the great-granddaughter of legendary vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing, Rachel inherited a legacy of combating supernatural evils. Orphaned after Dracula murdered her parents, she was mentored by Quincy Harker, son of Abraham’s ally, who trained her in the lethal arts of vampire hunting.

Rachel forged alliances with fellow hunters, including Taj Nital—a mute survivor she saved from vampiric forces—and Frank Drake, a disillusioned Dracula descendant who abandoned self-destruction to join her crusade. Armed with a crossbow, she relentlessly pursued Dracula across continents, blending strategy with vengeance.

Years later, Rachel shifted from hunter to scholar, teaching parapsychology at a university. Her life fractured when Dracula forcibly turned her into a vampire. Overwhelmed by the horror of her transformation, she sought release through Wolverine, who honored her plea with a fatal strike. Rachel’s story intertwines unyielding devotion to her family’s mission, tactical prowess, and the tragic duality of hunter and hunted, cementing her as a figure of resilience amid relentless darkness.
