Chibiking is a small talking beetle who assists the protagonist Popo on his journey. He uses special powers to aid Popo in battles against adversaries like Adder and his minions. Chibiking vanishes whenever the powerful beetle warrior Mushiking appears. This pattern continues until the later stages of the story, when it is revealed that Chibiking and Mushiking are the same entity, a secret kept until near the conclusion of Popo's quest.

After the final battle and Adder's defeat, Chibiking stops transforming and lives permanently with Popo. He shares this life alongside Pam, who also joins them following the conflict's resolution.
