Evac, an Autobot from the Unicron Trilogy's Cybertron storyline, dedicated himself to protecting life. His core mission involved safeguarding Earth's Cyber Planet Key for untold centuries. Throughout this prolonged guardianship on Earth, he observed human evolution while maintaining Cybertronian secrecy, frequently adopting diverse vehicle disguises including a blimp, 14 distinct helicopter types, an army jet, a stealth jet, a bi-plane, and a propeller plane.
He operated alongside his long-time partner Crosswise, focusing on tracking and capturing rogue Ancient Decepticons. A pivotal event occurred when Evac rescued a young Mikey Franklin from drowning in the Green River Rapids. This act ignited Franklin's lifelong quest to discover his rescuer's identity, culminating in their reunion years later when Franklin achieved the rank of Colonel in the U.S. military.
Following Starscream's awakening of the Ancient Decepticons, Evac rejoined Crosswise to counter the threat. This led them to encounter Optimus Prime and his team, revealing their shared origins from Cybertron, a planet Evac and Crosswise had previously considered legendary. Both joined Optimus Prime's forces. Tasked by Optimus with retrieving Earth's Cyber Planet Key, Evac was ambushed by Starscream's forces. An intense battle ensued, resulting in the loss of the Key, along with the Velocitron and Jungle Planet Keys and the Omega Lock.
Evac subsequently joined the Autobots' interstellar quest. He traveled to Gigantion alongside Optimus Prime and Override, meeting the planet's leader, Metroplex. After extensive journeys across Gigantion and a return to Cybertron, Evac went back to Earth to assess conflict damage. There, he negotiated with recaptured Ancient Decepticons, promising them freedom in exchange for aid against Galvatron. He then joined Optimus Prime and the other planetary leaders entering the black hole, where their combined efforts defeated Galvatron.
After the black hole's closure, Evac assisted in stabilizing Jungle Planet's damaged space thruster. Witnessing Optimus Prime's ultimate victory during Galvatron's final resurgence, Evac later received counsel from the former adversary Lugnutz to seek new opportunities. Accepting this advice, Evac assumed command of the starship Hyperborea to contribute to the new space bridge initiative, leaving Crosswise in charge of Earth's defenses. Backstop, a Jungle Planet sage, accompanied him. Later, during an unspecified mission on an alien world, Evac utilized his rescue expertise to save crew members from an icy threat.
Beyond the Cybertron series, Evac appears in other media. In the Transformers: The Ride – 3D attraction and its related backstory, he is depicted as a NEST-trained Autobot transport specialist. His role involves transporting high-level personnel, classified materials like the AllSpark shard, and recruits at hyperspeed, utilizing his agility and combat training. His background identifies him as the last surviving member of the Knights of Cybertron, originally tasked with guarding the AllSpark. A Decepticon trap by Megatron eradicated the other Knights. After centuries searching space, he located Optimus Prime on Earth. Following an infusion of the shard's energy, which granted him hyperspeed and a third vehicle mode, he was designated the "Guardian of the AllSpark."
Multiple toy versions represent Evac physically. His primary Cybertron Voyager Class figure transforms into a Eurocopter Dauphin rescue helicopter, featuring spinning rotor blades activated by a push-button (forming a robot-mode arm weapon), a retractable tow-hook winch, and spring-loaded missile launchers deployed via a Cyber Planet Key inserted into his back. Additional releases include a smaller Legends of Cybertron figure and a Target-exclusive multi-pack with Mini-Cons Razorclaw and Steamhammer. For the Transformers: The Ride continuity, figures include a Cyberverse Legion Class toy transforming into an enclosed-canopy supercar, and a Deluxe Class figure exclusive to Universal Studios theme parks.
