Bill Mondy

Description
Bill Mondy is an American actor with a extensive career in film, television, and voice acting, born on June 16, 1963, in Rochester, New York. He developed a passion for performance after being urged to audition for a school play, which set him on a path to study acting formally. Mondy earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1985 and a Master of Fine Arts from New York University's Graduate Acting Program in 1988. His early career was rooted in theater, with performances off-Broadway and in leading roles at prestigious regional theaters across the United States, including the Arena Stage and the Actors Theatre of Louisville.

Following his move to Los Angeles, Mondy built a substantial on-camera career with guest appearances in numerous television series such as L.A. Law, Touched by an Angel, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He also secured recurring roles in series like Smallville, Blade: The Series, and notably as Deputy Roscoe in nearly 40 episodes of The Dead Zone. His film credits include Miracle, I Spy, and The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Mondy's voice acting career began somewhat incidentally when he was asked to voice a series of medical ads, eventually leading to extensive work in animation and narration. In the realm of anime and animated series, he is widely recognized for voicing the Autobot Evac in the 2005-2006 series Transformers: Cybertron. Evac is a dedicated guardian of Earth's Cyber Planet Key, a role Mondy brought to life in the English-language version of the show. Another significant early voice role was providing the English voice for Slegger Law in the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series.

Perhaps his most prolific voice role came as Mr. Black, one half of the bumbling duo of evil scientists, in the long-running animated series Johnny Test, a character he voiced from 2005 to 2014. His other animation voice credits include Memnock in Supernoobs, Burnt Oak in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and roles in series like George of the Jungle and Dinosaur Train.

Beyond character work, Mondy has an extensive career as a narrator for documentary series, lending his voice to programs such as The First 48: Missing Persons on A&E, Last Day of the Dinosaurs on Discovery, and Edge Of War on the Military Channel. He has also worked as a promo voice for major networks like Disney and CBS. In 2007, he was nominated for a Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Male in a Dramatic Series for his role in the television series Robson Arms.
