Description
Shō Asuka, known as Christopher "Chris" Peeper in English adaptations, serves as the narrative’s central protagonist. The son of an archaeologist, he lives next door to his close friend Joy, and their lives transform after discovering Superbook—a sentient ancient Bible that unlocks time travel to biblical events alongside allies.

Two years after their initial adventures, the second season depicts a taller Shō, his growth mirroring evolved responsibilities. Superbook’s integration with a computer now allows remote observation and interaction with historical timelines. A crisis emerges when Ruffles, the family dog, vanishes, triggering a time-hopping rescue mission led by a robotic companion and a younger relative. Shō and Joy anchor the present, managing the interface to guide the search while avoiding suspicion.

Initially portrayed as carefree yet lazy, Shō dodges chores and schoolwork, sparking tensions with authority figures. His time-travel journeys gradually nurture maturity, refining his decision-making and sense of accountability. By the second season, he prioritizes teamwork and subtlety, deftly navigating extraordinary challenges while keeping his dual life hidden.

The character remains confined to the series’ two main seasons, with no appearances in films, OVAs, or spin-offs beyond this scope.
