Description
Selina Kyle operates as Catwoman, a professional thief and burglar in Gotham City. Caught in Gorilla Grodd's experimental Quake Engine time displacement machine during an Arkham Asylum confrontation, she, alongside Batman, his allies, and enemies, was transported to feudal Japan. Due to her position within the machine's effect radius, Catwoman arrived two years earlier than Batman. Upon his arrival, she provided him critical context about the transformed landscape, revealing Gotham's villains had become feudal lords battling for dominance. Catwoman initially positioned herself as a double agent, working for both Batman and Grodd. She aided Batman in locating Alfred Pennyworth, who had established a makeshift Batcave outside Edo. However, during a confrontation with the Joker and Harley Quinn, she betrayed Batman to align with Grodd. This alliance proved temporary; learning the full extent of the Joker's plans prompted her to switch back to Batman's side. She actively participated in the climactic battle against the merged castle robot Lord Joker, contributing to the villains' defeat. After returning to the present day, Catwoman sold weapons and furniture salvaged from the feudal-era castle robots at a Gotham City antique shop. Her personality exhibits pragmatism and opportunism, evident in her shifting alliances and sardonic dialogue, such as remarking to Gorilla Grodd, "Isn't a gorilla eating a banana a little cliche?" She employs a whip and retractable claws in combat, demonstrating agility and proficiency in hand-to-hand confrontations. Her complex relationship with Batman blends cooperation and conflict, driven by mutual attraction yet complicated by their opposing stances on the law.
