Description
Jason Todd operated as Red Hood when Gorilla Grodd's Quake Engine activated at Arkham Asylum, displacing him into feudal Japan alongside Batman's allies and enemies. Arriving two years before Batman, he adopted the guise of a traveling monk. He utilized a modified mask for concealment while gathering intelligence for Nightwing, Robin, and Red Robin.
His attire adapted to the era, featuring a kimono-inspired jacket akin to a Haori, a face-concealing reed basket helmet, and traditional weapons paired with his signature dual flintlock pistols. This preserved his core identity within the cultural context.
Tasked by Batman after his arrival, Red Hood sought the Joker and Harley Quinn, who vanished following an explosion. He tracked them to a rural area, discovering them living as amnesiac farmers. Despite aggressively confronting the memory-less Joker and demanding he reveal himself, Batman intervened. Persuaded by Batman, Red Hood stood down and left them undisturbed.
Red Hood later fought in the climactic battle at the "Field of Hell," where Gotham's villains deployed giant mechanical castles. He battled alongside the Bat-Family and the Bat Clan of Hida against the united villain threat, culminating in the super robot Lord Joker formed from the merged castles. After the villains' defeat and order's restoration, Red Hood returned to the present day with the others.
During this displacement, he demonstrated capabilities including advanced surveillance techniques, firearm proficiency, equestrian skills, and mastery of stealth and blending into feudal Japanese society.
